Who Can Apply

Scholarship candidates may be from any of these student categories

High School Seniors

3.5 GPA or higher

Trade School Students

3.2 GPA or higher

Undergraduate Students

3.2 GPA or higher

Graduate Students

3.5 GPA or higher

Mandatory Requirements

Without exception, all candidates must meet these requirements

Enrollment Status

Be currently enrolled as a full-time student or a high school graduate accepted to a full-time educational program by Fall

GPA Requirements

High school seniors: 3.5 GPA or higher | College students: 3.2 GPA or higher

Residency

Be a resident of Contra Costa County


Citizenship

Be a United States Citizen

Attendance Required

Attend the scholarship luncheon in June

Required Application Materials

Submit a complete application including all of the following

Official Transcript

Required
Be currently enrolled as a full-time student or a high school graduate accepted to a full-time educational program by Fall

Letters of Recommendation

Required
Three letters minimum - at least 2 from school instructors. Additional letters from coaches, activity sponsors, or work supervisors welcome.
Must be on official letterhead, addressed to CCAR Scholarship Foundation, signed and dated

Personal Essay

Required
Following application directives, state your reasons for continuing education, including career and leadership goals

Accomplishments Summary

Required
Summary of accomplishments, awards, work and volunteer experience (personal resume may also be uploaded)

Application Timeline

Application Opens: January 1st

Important Deadline Notice

All applications and materials must be submitted by March 31st.
